How to prepare the wall

The surface on which you are installing the mural must be cleaned, without damages, cracks and holes.

Do not forget that you can’t use the mural to hide the damage on the surface!
If your wall is painted, we recommend that the mural is installed on matt emulsion paint only.

Old, flaking paint will need to be scraped and sanded to a smooth surface. For freshly painted walls, allow 2 to 3 weeks drying time before installing your mural.

Step 1.

Preparation of the wallpapers:

When you unpack your shipment, you will notice that wallpapers are marked by numbers from 1 and so on. The first thing you need to do is to arrange them in order, lay them out on the floor and leave to rest for at least 4-5 hours. When they are laid out on the floor carefully check is everything all right with the mural. When you are certain that everything is as you ordered, prepare the necessary tools and get to work.

Usually, the mural overlaps 1 cm along the whole length and the width of the segments is 60 cm.

Tools for installation of wallpapers: wallpaper paste, wallpaper roller, tape measure, spirit level, pencil, brush, sharp knife, ruler and a clean cloth.

Steps 2.

Installation for wallpaper:

Create a guideline using a tape measure, spirit level and pencil by drawing a straight line vertically, a wall mural `s width (60 cm) in from the edge of the wall. This will help you guide your panel into place to ensure it’s applied straight.

Step 3.

Installation of the first segment of the wallpaper:

Use a paint roller to apply the wallpaper supplied paste to the wall, in the area the first segment will be installed. Apply the first segment to the pasted area and try not to squeeze any paste out of the edges. Make sure that you leave any extra bleed at the top, bottom and side for trimming later. Use a clean cloth or brush to gently smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles from the top of the wallpaper to the bottom.

Step 4.

Installation of remaining wallpaper segments:

When installing the second segment, keep in mind that it needs to overlap the first one by approximately 1 cm throughout the whole length of the label. Use a paint roller to apply the wallpaper supplied paste to the second part of the wall and apply the second segment of the pasted area, try not to squeeze any paste out of the edges. Ensure that the pattern or image matches up as you apply each panel.

Step 5.

When all segments have been installed, carefully trim the top, bottom and far left and right sides of your mural with a sharp blade and ruler. Use a damp sponge/brush to remove any excess paste on the wallpaper.
